We are delighted to announce that the full speaker programme has been confirmed for the first ever Topcon National OCT Conference.
BBR was the first optometry in the Herefordshire region to invest in an Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) scanner and Chairman Nick Rumney is a firm advocate of OCT technology.
Nick will be speaking about using OCT for glaucoma and the link between structure and function, as well as hosting several hands-on workshops.
Nick says, “I have taken part in a number of roadshows around the world to raise awareness of the benefits of using OCT. The technology allows optometrists to view 3D images of the inside of the eye which enables us to determine a precise diagnosis of any visual problems.
“This means we can not only identify issues such as the onset of glaucoma in its earliest stages, but also enables us to guide patients on the treatment options available.”
3D OCT imaging is automatically part of your BBR Private Eye Examination and is included in our extension to the NHS Sight Test – find out more about our Retinal Imaging capabilities.
The National OCT Conference is taking place on Sunday 22 November and Monday 23 November 2015 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole. Please visit www.nationaloctconference.co.uk for more details.
