To celebrate 50 years of delivering award-winning eye care both locally and nationally, Hereford-based BBR Optometry have teamed up with a variety of world-class suppliers to host special events and competitions throughout the year. It’s already been a year to remember, thanks to many of their best-loved suppliers, but one has stood out in particular due to its immense generosity.
Tom Davies is a British eyewear designer, renowned for made-to-order spectacles that look superb and are comfortable to wear. For BBR’s 50th anniversary, Tom himself designed four unique styles exclusive to BBR; two in titanium and two in a plastic, with properties not found anywhere else in the Tom Davies collection (and to their knowledge no other collection anywhere) yet.
BBR Optometry have had a number of clinical firsts over the years, but this is the first time for a world exclusive launch of a new spectacle frame product.
BBR Optometry’s practice manager, Daniel Read is thrilled with the product:
“We are all fans of the British, London-based frame manufacturer for its fantastic designs and unique ability to bespoke a frame to create a fantastic fit and a unique, tailored style. It is a brand that is well loved and worn by Ed Sheeran, Angelina Jolie, Heston Blumenthal, many of our patients and half of our staff.
“The frames change colour with the light. When outside, one style goes from clear to grey and the other from yellow to purple – this gift was a fantastic surprise from Tom Davies, which we can’t wait to reveal in our practice,” added Daniel.
BBR Optometry’s dispensing optician, Emily Davies, comments:
“This world exclusive is incredibly exciting, we’re delighted that Tom chose to launch this new material with us, before anywhere else in the world.
“People are used to seeing lenses that change colour with the light, but the frame altering colour is something we’ve not seen before. As always, we can get these frames made to measure, even with this new material.”
