BBR Optometry, Hereford’s only independently-owned optometry practice, is thrilled to announce that it has been shortlisted for Optical Assistant Team of the Year and Social Media Practice of the Year at the 2020 Optician Awards.
For over 50 years, BBR has provided award-winning care to patients with a variety of specialist conditions. BBR’s fantastic and enthusiastic support team make this level of service possible; each member enhances the quality of care given and is integral to the smooth running of the practice.
BBR believes strongly in developing all of its staff and holds Gold IIP recognition. This means that all optical and clinical assistants have achieved qualifications in their field. They have also all had training on hearing challenges, mental health issues and are Dementia Friends. This training enables them to draw on a wealth of knowledge and experience when dealing with patients with sensitivity at all times.

BBR Optometry has been shortlisted for Social Media Practice of the Year, due to its continuous efforts in ensuring it has a strong digital presence with patients and the local community. In 2018, BBR took over the management of all of its social media channels and since then has seen statistics grow considerably. The practice put together a strategy based on its key objectives; to increase engagement levels by posting organic, relevant content, tailored to each specific channel.

The Optician Awards is an evening full of recognition and an unforgettable celebration of excellence and innovation in eye care. This year’s winners will be announced at the black-tie ceremony on Saturday 4th April 2020, at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.
